Tour ItineraryEarly in the morning, your tour driver will pick you up from your hotel or any spot you prefer in the capital or NCR. From there, you'll head to New Delhi Railway Station to catch the Shatabdi Express train to Agra.
The train departs for Agra at 6:10 AM, and you'll be served breakfast on board.
Once you arrive in Agra, a tour representative will be waiting for you at Agra Cantt railway station. The journey takes about two hours, so you'll reach Agra around 8:10 AM. In Agra, a government-approved tour guide will take you to see the Taj Mahal. This stunning monument was built by the fifth Mughal ruler, Shah Jahan, in honor of his beloved wife, Mumtaz Mahal. Located on the banks of the River Yamuna, the Taj Mahal is one of the most popular tourist attractions in India.
After visiting the Taj Mahal, you’ll head to another remarkable site—the Agra Fort. This impressive red sandstone fort covers 94 acres and is often referred to as the Sister Monument of the Taj. For a long time, Agra Fort served as the seat of the Mughal kings, and inside, there's a museum showcasing various artifacts from ancient times.
Following your time at Agra Fort, you’ll stop for lunch. Be sure to try some Mughlai cuisine; it’s delicious and aromatic! Agra also offers a fantastic shopping experience. Explore the local bazaars for unique handicrafts and souvenirs. You can find beautiful marble items here, and don't miss out on buying petha, a famous Indian dessert from Agra.
After lunch, you'll take a private taxi to Fatehpur Sikri. This city was built by Mughal Emperor Akbar to celebrate his victory over Gujarat. Although it’s in ruins now, you can still sense its former charm and grandeur. Key sights in Fatehpur Sikri include the Tomb of Salim Chisti and the Buland Darwaza.
After exploring Fatehpur Sikri, you’ll head back to Agra, which takes less than an hour. If you’d like, you can visit the Taj Mahal again. Take some time to relax and enjoy a light snack.
In the evening, your tour driver will drop you off at Agra Cantt Railway Station, where you’ll board the Shatabdi Express back to Delhi. The train leaves at 9:15 PM, and dinner will be served on board.
